AgriTech North makes use of Zipgrow towers as one of its methods of growing produce. A common issue with this system which has negatively impacted growers are leaks and excessive algae growth. Cleaning of the leaks and algae removal was a full time job at the facility prior to our invention of Leakstops.

Leakstop's Parts
Bullnose
The bullnose is an extruded plastic shield that completely stops light from entering the inner growth media. This halts the growth of algae, and ensures that plants and roots are only growing in desired locations in the tower. In addition, it blocks all water from exiting the tower via the tower opening. The inserts are a two part component that hold the plants in place, preventing water from wicking down plant stems. These parts mesh with the bullnose to prevent light from entering the growth medium, and stop water and unwanted roots from exiting the tower. Inserts are available in two forms for small and medium stem plant types. Additional sizes are being developed, including a larger insert pair for large stalk plants. Bumper |

The bumper acts as the end piece for the bottom of the tower. It holds the bullnose and inserts in the tower secured in place. It prevents components or plants slipping into return water at the base of the tower.

| Mobility The leakstops are designed to be added or removed from the tower at ANY stage of the growth process allowing for better control and variation in crop rotation. As well as allowing multiple tower arrangements utilizing the same components.
